For many years I have owned and found the convenience of a Kindle the best way for me to access books.
I am an avid reader, my preferred genre is Christmas Romances all year round, haha, but I think I have already told you that little gem.
Well, a couple of weeks ago I purchased a couple of really, yes really, paper, cover, the lot books.
One was called The Staycation written by Cressida McLaughlin, another was the Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes and a third one was Because of You written by Dawn French.
Having gotten used to the ease of reading from a kindle it took me quite a while to convert back to physical books, even remembering how to hold a novel was at first a challenge haha. Anyway the first of the three books I read was the Dawn French one.
It is about two women, two babies and a terrible lie. It has many twists and turns and a massive twist at the end. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend the said book. And in a departure from my usual reading, not a Christmas Tree insight. Actually, it was quite an emotional read and I did have a few tears when the storyline took an unexpected turn.
Yesterday I was at sister Sue's for lunch with the mother unit, we were joined by Sue's daughter Leanne, her husband Neil and their son Jack. It was, in my sister's words, like the last supper haha. Why such a reference one might ask, well today at 10 o'clock Leanne and her family left Darlington to go back and live in Thailand. To say it was a battle for the tears to be kept in check was a massive understatement.
Today I have moved one step closer to finishing my garden makeover. So today I finished filling the crazy paving planter with soil and planted out the new range of herbs I had bought and then to finish it off I top-dressed the planter with decorative stones in an effort to keep some moisture in the soil and make it look nice as well haha.
