Monday morning again in the Jungalow. I was up relatively early making sure that the Jungalow was in tip-top condition ahead of the open afternoon I am hosting for the neighbours.
I had decided to open up the Jungalow for wine, tea, coffee and cake to celebrate the new improvements I have been making, as a lot of the neighbours had been interested in the comings and goings of the builder.
So by 10.30, I was ready.
At the appointed time my cousin and her daughter Sophie came to the Jungalow to discuss her wedding cake, which I am making in September. It is going to be a 4 tier extravaganza which I can wait to get going with. Poor Sophie has had to cancel her wedding 3 times since 2020 so we are hoping that this time it will go ahead. At the moment she is only able to have 60 guests as long as they don't sing or dance. She is hopeful that by September things will be okay and she will be able to have the 100 guests she wants. I admire her for her patience but she is prepared to cancel again if she can't get the numbers she wants.
This afternoon as I mentioned I opened the doors to the Jungalow, 10 neighbours came for a look around and refreshments. It was such a lovely afternoon.
Just took my mum and Auntie Alice home they had been to mine for their teas. Now I can sit and relax. Tomorrow is looking equally as busy as today.
So tonight is the summer solstice. The longest day. It is a pity that the weather hasn't been very summery today. But on the bright side, it is only 187 sleeps to Christmas Day haha.
