It has definitely been a foody week for me.
On Friday I was attending a u3a luncheon club at the Bay Horse in Midderidge. 28 of our members were attending, everyone had a great time.
It is a great pub and the food is excellent.
I plumped for Chicken Terriaki and noodles it was delicious.
It was just great to get out and have good food and chat.
After I had taught my u3a crafting class on Thursday, I met up with Sarah for a mammy, daughter lunch. We chose Tao which is an Asian Street Food restaurant just off the High Row, we had a sharing plate which included Boa Buns, Goyzas, Edama Beans, skewers and sushi. I have to say the food was not only presented well, actually in a little wooden boat but tasted fab. After lunch, we had a venture into House of Fraser for a mooch. I have to say it is an hour of my life I will not get back haha. The whole 20% off closing down sale is a great con, if you think you will find a bargain you will be sadly mistaken.
A couple of months ago I told you that I had won a nice chunk of money on the Postcode lottery, well I feel my luck is in as I won two further prizes this week. Not money this time but a choice of really nice gifts I could choose from, anyway I digress. When I won the money I vowed to take my kids their partners and my grandchildren out for a meal, my treat. Well, Ben, Nikki and the kids got their night out whilst we were in Tattershall, so Sarah, Lee and the kids got their chance on Saturday when we went along to the Eastern Bamboo, which happens to be our favourite Chinese restaurant.
It being the last Thursday of the month I was again teaching my u3a crafting class. My ladies met to do some Plastic Binca work. I challenged them to dredge up their childhood memories of cross-stitching at primary school. All the ladies beavered away for two hours and whilst some didn’t finish in time there were some excellent efforts for those who did.
It has been a funny old week on the health stakes to be fair. On Tuesday, I went for my Annual eye and foot exam for my Diabetes. While getting my tootsies tickled and checked over with the Doppler machine there was an indication that I may have an irregular heart rhythm, so the nurse said she would ask my doctor to investigate. Knowing the situation with the NHS at the moment I wasn't holding my breath to be seen anytime soon haha. However, yee of little faith Dorothy, later the same day I was contacted by my doctor to attend the following day for an ECG and blood tests. So Wednesday I had those done so now we wait for the results. I think I am slowly dropping to bits haha.
Look at this Chicken can you see what is wrong?
Did you find the cat sitting on the lady's shoulder?
