A week ago I decided that I would take the offer up of a photo book for £5.99. It is hard-backed and has 20 photos in it.
As you can see from the title it catalogues the evolution of the She Shed from the lowly garage it was a month ago.
I thought it would be a nice keepsake that would allow people to see what a fantastic conversion the garage and the garden, as a whole, have undertaken.
I have had the pleasure of looking after Harry and Leighton today. I have been outside most of the day painting, but more of that in a while, and they have spent all day watching youtube, which is not good, shame on you Nana Dot, but I was busy and they were happy.
Now onto the painting job I have been tackling today. When the initial idea for the garden reno was muted it was my intention to replace the fence between my neighbour and myself. As it was pointed out to me the cedar fence was in good order and only needed a lick of paint, so it stayed. Well, today was the day it got its lick of paint. As I set to with the paint I feared that it was a bit too red. But looking at it as a whole I think it is fine.
Well, folks that lick of paint has taken me 6.5 hours, yes 6.5 hours today and I am still not finished. Picture 7 highlighted a huge problem which I encountered. The next-door neighbours Virginia Creeper and ivy maraude over the fence to my side. I find these shrubs very attractive so didn't know what I should do. I needed to paint behind them so I had 3 options.
Option 1 - paint up to where the foliage starts
Option 2 - wait until winter when all the leaves fall off the Virginia Creeper then paint
Option 3 - do a bit of pruning
Well in the end I went for a rather aggressive pruning and now have a better-looking shrub with all its straggly bits gone and I am able to finish the painting. However, it won't be today as I am shattered. So I am just finishing this blog then I am off in the shower and I am going to sit and watch TV tonight and knit Sue a cotton dishcloth haha.
