50 pairs and counting

Having woken up this morning feeling a lot better I was looking forward to a day to myself.

After yesterday's news, I had decided to clear my schedule for today to give myself some downtime. My sister Sue will now take the mother unit to the arena this morning, where she is a scrum-half for Mowden Rugby Club, not really haha she is off to have her spring booster.

I know that the government are saying you don't necessarily have to isolate anymore now but, I figured that I didn't want to be the one spreading the bugs if I didn't have to. And it would appear that my children are taking the views of the government also, so the grandsons came for the school run this morning as per normal haha. Although nana didn't give them bear hugs like I usually do just in case.

So with that in mind this morning I began to build the new shoe rack Mr Amazon delivered to me yesterday. I got cracking whilst I had the stamina, inclination and drive before I was tempted to fling myself in a chair and watch copious amounts of daytime TV haha.

It is a very easy affair to build ( a cross-eyed monkey riding a unicycle could do it haha) I soon had it built and in place at the end of the run of wardrobes in my bedroom behind the door, out of sight. Next, came the task of filling it, I was staggered at the number of shoes I had and had forgotten about more to the point. So 50 pairs of boots, shoes and sandals later I had filled said rack.

Now came the delmar, what to do with the other pile of shoes that didn't fit the rack. Well, the charity shop has gained lots of pairs of shoes after I had been through the new rack and culled the ones I didn't want to make way for the ones I did. It is amazing I can now see all my shoes in one go - MARVELLOUS!!!!

And might I add, how many pairs of flip flops does one need? Clearly, I thought at least 25 haha. You see having them hidden in the wardrobe meant that I couldn't see them so bought new ones I know right. But, folks, no more.

After the shoeathon I have to admit I did feel shattered, so rewarded myself with a little of that promised daytime TV.

Yesterday Ian my gardener gave the lawns their first cut of the season and just like that the garden is looking so much better. He also started the perennial process of vamoosing the bloody ground elder, no mean feat, but I was glad he made a start before it took too much of a hold in the garden borders.

This Saturday I was again going to be hosting the second Street party committee meeting at the Jungalow, but in light of me getting Rona... I asked one of the neighbours to scoot around the grove and postpone the meeting until a week on Saturday.
